7 to 184 clicks a month, and 374 calls in 6 months
Brand new site, zero paid ads. 1.57K clicks and 115K impressions over 16 months, and 374 calls from Google Search and Maps in the first half of 2026 alone, from people who needed a plumber now.
For businesses that win customers on Google Maps
Top 3 on the map, where the calls happen.
Google Maps SEO services get your business into the top 3 of the Google map pack for the searches your customers make. I optimize your Google Business Profile, build reviews, citations and local links, and track your rankings across your whole service area, then report the calls, clicks and direction requests it brings.
Six things decide who gets the three map spots, and I work on all of them every month. It is the core of my local SEO services, focused on the map.
Profile optimization / Reviews / Citations / Local links / Photos and posts / Rank tracking
The right primary and secondary categories, every service listed, accurate hours and service areas, and a description written for customers, not keywords. Categories matter most for trades with emergency work, where a sparking outlet gets a call to whoever shows up on the map, which is why the profile is the first fix.
A simple system to ask every happy customer, plus replies to every review. Fresh reviews are one of the strongest map pack signals. In regulated fields, like law and healthcare, replies never confirm someone is a client.
Your name, address and phone the same everywhere that matters, and links from real local sites that tell Google you are known in your area.
Real photos of your work and place, a post every month and the questions customers ask answered on the profile, so it looks active and trusted.
Service pages that match your categories and a fast mobile site, with the same technical SEO checks I run on every site. The profile links to it, so it has to convert.
A grid of rankings across your service area, not one position from your office, plus the calls and direction requests from your profile.
Profile first
Only need your profile fixed? I start every client with a full profile setup in the first month, then keep it working.
Set up properly in month one, then kept working.
REAL CLIENTS, REAL NUMBERS
Four local businesses that now get most of their calls and visits from Google Search and Maps.
Brand new site, zero paid ads. 1.57K clicks and 115K impressions over 16 months, and 374 calls from Google Search and Maps in the first half of 2026 alone, from people who needed a plumber now.
Launched with nothing, no clicks, no impressions. 2.09K clicks and 86K impressions over 16 months, and 370 calls from Google Search and Maps in the first half of 2026. No ad spend.
Urgent service where whoever ranks first takes the call. Tracked in SerpFox: one term from ~90 to top 3, another from 26 to 2nd, a third from the 50s to 2nd.
My first ever SEO project, my mom's salon. Grew to 1.19K clicks and 48K impressions, reaching positions 1-2 on Google for the searches that bring in clients.
Google picks the three map results by relevance, distance and prominence. You cannot move closer to the searcher, so the work goes into the other two: a profile that matches the search exactly, and the reviews, links and citations that prove you are the best choice nearby.

Map rankings change street by street, so one position for your office address tells you very little. A good Google Maps report shows a grid of rankings across your whole service area, how it moved this month, and the calls, website clicks and direction requests your profile brought in.
Monthly SEO Report
Map pack, month 6Example report
| Keyword | Map pack | Organic |
|---|---|---|
| Main service near me | #11 to #2 | #20 to #7 |
| Main service + city | #7 to #1 | #14 to #4 |
| Emergency + service | #15 to #3 | #31 to #12 |
Ranking rows show the report layout. The calls and ad spend are real figures from the electrician case study.
A Google Maps SEO agency often sells a fixed bundle of citations and posts on autopilot. I work on whatever is actually holding your map rankings back, which is different for every profile, and you talk to the person doing it. Whoever you hire, ask to see a ranking grid for a real business.

Three steps, starting with a map of where you rank today.
First I run a ranking grid across your service area for your main searches, so we can see exactly where you show up and where you vanish. Then I compare your profile, reviews and citations with the businesses holding the top three spots, and you get a plan before any work starts.
Then I fix the profile and everything around it: primary and secondary categories, services, photos, hours, service areas, duplicate listings and details that do not match across directories. If competitors break the rules with fake addresses or keyword names, I report them through Google's own channels.
Then I build prominence month by month: reviews, citations and local links, plus posts and photos that keep the profile active. Every month the grid is run again, so you can see the area where you rank in the top three grow, along with the calls it brings.
A few simple rules, so you know exactly what to expect. They keep the work on results, not meetings.
A short intro call, then a second call where I walk you through your audit and plan. After that, things stay simple over email, and I reply within a day.
One clear report on the same date every month: your money keyword rankings, the calls they bring and the links I built.
Work starts once I have access to your Google Business Profile and main listings. It takes about 20 minutes.
If your site holds you back, I rebuild it once around the services you want to rank for. One review round, no endless redesigns.
A simple agreement, not a 12-month contract. Cancel anytime with 30 days notice, because it has to work for both of us.
Your website, content, profiles and accounts stay in your name. If we ever stop working together, you keep all of it.
If that sounds like how you like to work, send me your site. Book an Intro Call
Plans start at $2,000 a month, month to month. A single location usually fits Starter, while several locations, or a category full of spam listings, usually need Growth.
$2,000/month
One location in a normal market.
For competitive markets
$3,500/month
For businesses competing in busier local markets.
from $5,000/month
Several locations or franchise networks.
Need a new website? SEO-first rebuilds are a one-time setup fee, quoted on your roadmap call.
Map pack customers call, book or ask for directions straight from your profile, so a few extra a month adds up fast. Put in your numbers to see how many extra leads a month cover the plan.
1. Your numbers
What one customer is worth to you over time: the first sale plus repeat business and referrals.
Fill in both and your LTV updates above.
What you keep from each sale after the costs of delivering it (labor, materials, product or service costs). Leave at 100% to judge on revenue.
Out of 10 leads from Maps (calls, website visits, direction requests), how many become paying customers?
Nobody can promise an exact number, and keyword tools often undercount real searches. Try a few. I will give you a realistic range for your area on the intro call.

2. What it is worth
0Extra leads / month to break even
That is all it takes for SEO to pay for itself. Could Google bring you that many more a month?
If SEO brings 0 leads a month
0% return on the plan
Want a second opinion? I will check these numbers with you on the intro call, honestly.
An estimate from your own numbers, not a promise of results. SEO usually takes 4 to 12 months to build up.
The questions people ask most about ranking on Google Maps.
Pick the right categories, fill in every part of your Google Business Profile, get a steady flow of reviews, keep your details the same across directories and back it all with a website that matches. Distance to the searcher matters too, which is why rankings differ across your area.
Because distance is one of the three map ranking factors. The closer the searcher is to you, the easier it is to rank. Stronger relevance and prominence push your top three area further out, and a ranking grid shows exactly how far.
They can take spots that should be yours. Fake addresses and keyword-stuffed business names break Google's rules, and they can be reported through Google's own tools. I check for them as part of the audit.
You can rank without one, but it is much harder. Your website backs up your categories and location, and it is where many map searchers go before they call.
Any business people call or book straight from the map. Locksmiths are the extreme case, with fake listings everywhere, so my locksmith SEO work adds spam reporting on top. Salons book from their profile, which is why hair salon SEO puts photos and the Book button first.
Most local SEO services cost from $1,500 to $10,000+ a month. My plans start at $2,000 a month, month to month, and include the full Google Maps work plus your website and AI SEO.
Not ready to hire anyone yet? These are the 12 things I check first when a profile will not rank on Google Maps, from categories to reviews, on one page you can tick off yourself.
It downloads right away and lands in your inbox too. No newsletter.
