SEO for real estate: a real estate agent showing a house to buyers

For real estate agents, teams and brokerages

Real Estate SEO Services

Your own buyer and seller leads, not rented from a portal.

Real estate SEO services get agents and brokerages found in the Google map pack, organic results and AI answers for the searches portals do not own: agent and realtor searches, neighborhood questions and seller searches like home values. I build your profile, neighborhood pages, reviews and links, and track buyer and seller leads.

SEO for Real Estate Agents and Brokerages

You will not outrank the big portals for every listing search, and you do not need to. I focus your site on the searches where a local agent wins, the same way I approach local business SEO: agent searches, neighborhood knowledge and sellers looking for help.

SEO for real estate agents: planning neighborhood pages for a brokerage website
  1. Google Business Profile for Agents and Teams

The Real estate agent category, your service area, recent sold photos and a review request after every closing. The map is where portals cannot follow, and it is how you get into the top 3 on Google Maps.

  2. Neighborhood Pages With Real Local Knowledge

Schools, commute, streets that hold value, what homes have been selling for and who each area suits. Pages written from what you know, not copied listing data, give people a reason to choose you over a portal.

  3. Seller Pages That Win Listings

Home valuation, selling a house in your town, downsizing, selling an inherited home. Seller searches are where a local agent beats a portal most easily, and listings are the business you want. Inherited homes and divorces often bring a lawyer into the sale, so those pages answer the questions sellers have at that stage.

  4. Realtor SEO for Your IDX Site

IDX listing pages are often duplicated across hundreds of agent sites, so they rarely rank alone. I make sure they do not drag the site down and point your own content at the searches you can win.

  5. Local Links and Citations

Matching details on Zillow, Realtor.com and Homes.com agent profiles, your brokerage page and local directories, plus links from local businesses, schools and community groups you support.

  6. AI SEO for Home Buyers and Sellers

People ask ChatGPT and AI Overviews which neighborhoods suit them and which agent to call. Clear local answers help you get named, and it comes with every plan as part of my AI SEO services.

Property managers

SEO for Property Management Companies

Landlords looking for a manager search locally and compare fees, services and reviews before they call. SEO for property management works best with a page per area and property type you manage, plus clear answers on fees, tenant screening and maintenance.

Real Estate SEO Results

No real estate case study yet, so here are four local businesses whose rankings I built, including a drain cleaning company that climbed from rank 90 to the top 3. The same local ranking work runs through every one of them.

Why the Map Pack Matters for Real Estate Agents

Portals fill the organic results for listing searches, but they do not appear in the map pack, because the map is for local businesses. When someone searches for a realtor or agent nearby, the three profiles on the map compete only with other agents, and reviews from past buyers and sellers decide who gets the call.

  • Portals do not show in the map pack
  • Reviews from real closings win the shortlist
  • Seller searches often start with a local agent

What a Real Estate SEO Company Should Report

A real estate report should separate buyer leads from seller leads, because a listing appointment is usually worth more than a showing request. It should also show rankings by neighborhood and town, since that is how your clients search.

Real Estate SEO Agency or a Freelancer?

Many real estate marketing companies sell a template site and a blog feed that hundreds of other agents also get. With me, one person builds pages around your market and your knowledge, talks to you directly and works month to month.

Real Estate SEO Process

Three steps, aimed at the searches where a local agent beats a portal.

Step 1

Audit & Strategy

I start with your farm: the neighborhoods and towns you know best, whether you want more listings or more buyers, and which searches the portals have locked up. Then I find the gaps where agents can still win, like seller, valuation and neighborhood questions, and you get a plan built around them.

Step 2

Technical & On-Page SEO

Next I fix what makes you look like every other agent: a profile with no sold photos, a site that is mostly IDX pages, no clear way for a seller to ask for a valuation. Each neighborhood and seller topic you want gets a page written from your local knowledge.

Step 3

Content & Links

Then I keep building: links from local businesses and groups, matching details on every portal profile, and a review request after every closing. Your report shows rankings by neighborhood and buyer and seller leads separately, so you can see what search is adding to your pipeline.

How I Work

A few simple rules, so you know exactly what to expect. They keep the work on results, not meetings.

  1. Calls when they matter

A short intro call, then a second call where I walk you through your audit and plan. After that, things stay simple over email, and I reply within a day.

  2. One report a month

One clear report on the same date every month: your money keyword rankings, the calls they bring and the links I built.

  3. Onboarding comes first

Work starts once I have access to your Google Business Profile and main listings. It takes about 20 minutes.

  4. SEO-first rebuilds, no fluff

If your site holds you back, I rebuild it once around the services you want to rank for. One review round, no endless redesigns.

  5. Month to month

A simple agreement, not a 12-month contract. Cancel anytime with 30 days notice, because it has to work for both of us.

  6. You own everything

Your website, content, profiles and accounts stay in your name. If we ever stop working together, you keep all of it.

SEO for Real Estate FAQ

The questions agents ask before they stop relying on portals.

What is SEO for real estate?

SEO for real estate is the work that gets an agent, team or brokerage found on Google, Google Maps and AI answers by people buying or selling in their area. It covers your Google Business Profile, neighborhood and seller pages, reviews and local links, aimed at the searches where a local agent can beat the big portals.

How much does real estate SEO cost?

Most SEO services cost from $1,500 to $10,000+ a month, depending on the market and the work involved. My plans start at $2,000 a month, month to month, and one extra closing a year can cover a large share of it.

Can I outrank Zillow and Realtor.com?

For broad listing searches, usually not, and it is not the best use of your money. You can win the map pack, where portals do not appear, plus agent, seller and neighborhood searches where local knowledge matters more than listing data.

How long does real estate SEO take?

Map pack movement often shows in 2 to 4 months and organic rankings in 4 to 6 months or more. Neighborhood and seller pages in a smaller market can move sooner than broad searches in a big city.

Do I need my own website, or is my brokerage page enough?

Your own site gives you much more room to rank, because brokerage pages are usually thin and shared. If you stay on a brokerage page, your Google Business Profile and reviews have to do most of the work.

Do you work with the insurance agents and lawyers I refer clients to?

Yes. Every buyer needs home insurance before closing, so I offer SEO for insurance agencies for the agents you send them to. Estate and divorce lawyers handle many of the sales you list, and my local SEO for lawyers helps them get found for those problems.

Can you guarantee I will rank on page one?

No. Nobody controls Google, and anyone who guarantees it is guessing. I promise the work, honest reporting and a plan you can stop with 30 days' notice.
