7 to 184 clicks a month, and 374 calls in 6 months
Brand new site, zero paid ads. 1.57K clicks and 115K impressions over 16 months, and 374 calls from Google Search and Maps in the first half of 2026 alone, from people who needed a plumber now.
For custom and new home builders
Found while families are still choosing a builder.
Home builder SEO services get your homebuilding company found on Google, Google Maps and AI search while families are still researching who should build their home. I build pages for your floor plans, communities and build-on-your-lot process, strengthen your Google Business Profile and reviews, and track serious inquiries each month.
Building a home is the biggest purchase most families make, and they research builders for months before they sign. The work is aimed at being found, trusted and remembered across that whole stretch, not just at the first search.
Custom homes / Build on your lot / Semi-custom plans / Luxury homes / New home communities / Spec homes
Custom home builder or home builder as the main category, every area you build in, photos of finished homes and a review request at each handover. Buyers judge you here before they ever open your site.
A page for each plan with square footage, photos and what is included, plus a page for each community or area you build in. These match how buyers actually search: by plan type, lot and town. If you also build multi-family or light commercial projects, those buyers are developers drawing up bid lists, so they get their own project pages.
Many buyers already own land. Pages that explain your process, site checks, timelines and the areas you cover catch those searches, which a lot of builder sites ignore.
Matching details on Houzz, BBB, your home builders association and local directories, license and warranty details on the site, and links from suppliers, Parade of Homes events and local press. Buyers check a builder license first and reviews second, so both are easy to find.
Builder sites carry hundreds of large photos and virtual tours, which slow pages down. I compress, lazy-load and structure them, the same technical SEO work fixes I make on every site.
Buyers now ask ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews which builders in an area are worth talking to. Clear plan pages, reviews and consistent details make you easier to recommend, and it comes with every plan.
Builders who also renovate
Builders who also take on major renovations or additions get pages for that work too, with project photos and budget ranges. It keeps smaller projects coming in between new builds.
Steady work between new builds.
REAL CLIENTS, REAL NUMBERS
No home builder case study yet, so here are four local businesses I ranked from scratch, including two trade sites that brought 744 calls in six months. Builder searches are smaller, but the local ranking work is the same.
Brand new site, zero paid ads. 1.57K clicks and 115K impressions over 16 months, and 374 calls from Google Search and Maps in the first half of 2026 alone, from people who needed a plumber now.
Launched with nothing, no clicks, no impressions. 2.09K clicks and 86K impressions over 16 months, and 370 calls from Google Search and Maps in the first half of 2026. No ad spend.
Urgent service where whoever ranks first takes the call. Tracked in SerpFox: one term from ~90 to top 3, another from 26 to 2nd, a third from the 50s to 2nd.
My first ever SEO project, my mom's salon. Grew to 1.19K clicks and 48K impressions, reaching positions 1-2 on Google for the searches that bring in clients.
People planning a new home search for builders near the land they own or want to buy, and Google answers with three map listings first. That is where buyers first judge your finished homes, your reviews and how long you have been building, long before they book a meeting.

Home buyers can research for months, so a builder's report should follow each inquiry back to the page and search that started it. It should also show rankings for the plans, communities and build-on-your-lot searches that bring serious buyers.
Monthly SEO Report
Home building, month 6Example report
| Keyword | Map pack | Organic |
|---|---|---|
| Custom home builder | #11 to #4 | #24 to #9 |
| Build on your lot | #14 to #6 | #29 to #10 |
| Luxury home builder | #10 to #5 | #26 to #12 |
The ranking rows are an example layout. The calls and ad spend are real figures from the electrician and plumbing case studies.
Many SEO agencies treat home builders like any other trade and report traffic, when what you need is serious inquiries from people ready to build. With me you talk to the person doing the work, and you can ask anyone selling SEO for homebuilders for real lead data, like the call figures above.
Working with me
One specialist, start to finish
Typical agency
Sales team, account managers, juniors
Three steps, paced for buyers who take months to choose a builder.
I start with the homes you want to build more of and the areas where your buyers own or want land. Then I look at what those buyers see today: who shows in the map pack, which plan and community pages rank, and where your site is missing from the search.
Then I fix what makes buyers move on: plan pages without square footage or photos, one page covering every area, slow galleries and no clear way to ask about building. Each plan, community and build-on-your-lot option gets a page that answers the questions buyers have before the first meeting.
Then I keep building trust over the long decision: links from suppliers and local press, reviews from past owners, and a new project page each time you hand over keys. Your report follows inquiries back to the plan or page that started them.
A few simple rules, so you know exactly what to expect. They keep the work on results, not meetings.
A short intro call, then a second call where I walk you through your audit and plan. After that, things stay simple over email, and I reply within a day.
One clear report on the same date every month: your money keyword rankings, the calls they bring and the links I built.
Work starts once I have access to your Google Business Profile and main listings. It takes about 20 minutes.
If your site holds you back, I rebuild it once around the services you want to rank for. One review round, no endless redesigns.
A simple agreement, not a 12-month contract. Cancel anytime with 30 days notice, because it has to work for both of us.
Your website, content, profiles and accounts stay in your name. If we ever stop working together, you keep all of it.
If that sounds like how you like to work, send me your site. Book an Intro Call
Plans start at $2,000 a month, month to month. A custom builder in one market usually fits Starter, while builders selling several communities or covering more than one metro usually need Growth.
$2,000/month
One location in a normal market.
For competitive markets
$3,500/month
For businesses competing in busier local markets.
from $5,000/month
Several locations or franchise networks.
Need a new website? SEO-first rebuilds are a one-time setup fee, quoted on your roadmap call.
One custom home can pay for years of SEO, and happy owners send friends and family your way. Put in your numbers to see how few extra inquiries a month cover the plan.
1. Your numbers
What one client is worth over time: the build itself plus upgrades, later projects and the referrals that follow.
Fill in both and your LTV updates above.
What you keep from each sale after the costs of delivering it (labor, materials, product or service costs). Leave at 100% to judge on revenue.
Out of 10 serious inquiries (calls, consultation or floor plan requests), how many sign a build contract?
Nobody can promise an exact number, and building searches are small in volume but high in value. Try a few. I will give you a realistic range for your market on the intro call.

2. What it is worth
0Extra inquiries / month to break even
That is all it takes for SEO to pay for itself. Could Google bring you that many more a month?
If SEO brings 0 leads a month
0% return on the plan
Want a second opinion? I will check these numbers with you on the intro call, honestly.
An estimate from your own numbers, not a promise of results. SEO usually takes 4 to 12 months to build up.
What builders ask before spending on SEO.
Most SEO services cost from $1,500 to $10,000+ a month, depending on the market and the work involved. My plans start at $2,000 a month, month to month, which is small next to the margin on one home.
Map pack movement often shows in 2 to 4 months and organic rankings in 4 to 6 months or more. Buyers then take months to decide, so treat SEO as a long-term investment rather than a quick fix.
In most cases, yes. Buyers search by plan type, size and area, and one page cannot rank for all of that. Each page also gives you a place for photos, price ranges if you share them and a way to ask questions.
No. Nobody controls Google or how many families are building in your area. I can promise the work, daily ranking checks and a monthly report on the inquiries that came from search, and you can stop month to month.
Commercial and multi-family work is bid to developers, so it gets the project-led setup of my construction SEO work. Many builders also sell spec homes through local agents, and I offer SEO for realtors built on the same neighborhood and community pages.
Building searches are smaller than trade searches, but each one can be worth a whole home. A few extra serious inquiries a month can matter more than hundreds of visitors looking for repair work.
Not ready to hire anyone yet? These are the 12 things I check first on a builder's Google Business Profile, from categories and service areas to the photos that keep buyers looking.
It downloads right away and lands in your inbox too. No newsletter.
