7 to 184 clicks a month, and 374 calls in 6 months
Brand new site, zero paid ads. 1.57K clicks and 115K impressions over 16 months, and 374 calls from Google Search and Maps in the first half of 2026 alone, from people who needed a plumber now.
For commercial and residential construction firms
More bid requests from owners, developers and homeowners.
SEO for construction companies gets your firm found by developers, property managers and homeowners when they search for a builder in their city. I build sector and project pages for commercial and residential work, keep your Google Business Profile and citations sharp, and report the bid requests and calls each month.
Construction buyers range from a homeowner planning a build to a developer shortlisting firms for a new warehouse, and they search in very different ways. I split the work so each type of client finds pages written for them, with the commercial side built like any B2B sale: longer timelines and several people signing off.
Commercial construction / Tenant improvements / Design-build / Industrial buildings / Custom homes / Multi-family
Construction company as the primary category, secondary ones for the work you really do, photos from finished jobs and reviews from owners and property managers. Getting your Google Maps rankings right matters even for commercial firms.
Separate pages for commercial, industrial, multi-family and residential work, plus case pages for finished projects with scope, size, schedule and client type. This is what an owner or architect checks before inviting you to bid.
Safety program, bonding capacity, licenses, certifications and insurance shown clearly, so procurement teams and general contractors can check you without a phone call.
Matching details on BBB, local and state contractor directories and your trade associations, plus links from suppliers, architects and local business groups.
Some developers and facility managers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews for construction firms in a city. Clear project pages and consistent details make you easier to recommend, and it comes with every plan.
Daily rankings for each sector in each city you work in, and a monthly count of bid requests and calls, split by commercial and residential.
Residential work
Firms that also build homes or run large residential projects get their own pages, reviews and quote form, kept apart from the commercial side so each ranks for its own searches. Smaller residential jobs get quote-led pages, one per project type.
Kept separate from the commercial pipeline.
REAL CLIENTS, REAL NUMBERS
No construction company case study yet, so here are four local businesses I ranked from scratch, led by two trade sites with 744 calls in six months between them. Your buyers are bigger, but the local ranking work is the same.
Brand new site, zero paid ads. 1.57K clicks and 115K impressions over 16 months, and 374 calls from Google Search and Maps in the first half of 2026 alone, from people who needed a plumber now.
Launched with nothing, no clicks, no impressions. 2.09K clicks and 86K impressions over 16 months, and 370 calls from Google Search and Maps in the first half of 2026. No ad spend.
Urgent service where whoever ranks first takes the call. Tracked in SerpFox: one term from ~90 to top 3, another from 26 to 2nd, a third from the 50s to 2nd.
My first ever SEO project, my mom's salon. Grew to 1.19K clicks and 48K impressions, reaching positions 1-2 on Google for the searches that bring in clients.
Even commercial buyers start local: a developer or facility manager searches for construction companies in the city where the building is. The three map listings get looked at first, so your categories, project photos and reviews from owners decide whether you make their bid list.

A construction company needs bid requests split by commercial and residential, because each is a separate pipeline with its own value. It should also show rankings for the sectors and project types you bid on, in the cities where your clients build.
Monthly SEO Report
Construction, month 6Example report
| Keyword | Map pack | Organic |
|---|---|---|
| Commercial construction company | #13 to #5 | #28 to #9 |
| Tenant improvement contractor | #10 to #4 | #23 to #8 |
| Design build firm | #16 to #7 | #34 to #12 |
The ranking rows are an example layout. The calls and ad spend are real figures from the electrician and plumbing case studies.
A construction company SEO agency often runs residential and commercial clients through the same template, and you end up talking to an account manager. With me you work directly with the person doing the SEO, and you can ask anyone you compare for lead data from a real site, like the call figures above.
Working with me
One specialist, start to finish
Typical agency
Sales team, account managers, juniors
Three steps, with commercial and residential work handled as separate pipelines.
I list the sectors and project types you want to bid on and the cities where your clients build. Then I check who owners and developers find for each search today, what their project pages show, and where your firm is missing.
Then I fix what keeps you off bid lists: one generic services page, no finished project pages, licensing and bonding hidden, and a contact form that does not ask for scope or timeline. Each sector gets its own page, and each finished job becomes a case page with the details buyers check.
Then I keep building: links from suppliers, architects and associations, the same details on every directory, and reviews from owners and property managers. Your report shows rankings per sector and city, plus bid requests split by commercial and residential.
A few simple rules, so you know exactly what to expect. They keep the work on results, not meetings.
A short intro call, then a second call where I walk you through your audit and plan. After that, things stay simple over email, and I reply within a day.
One clear report on the same date every month: your money keyword rankings, the calls they bring and the links I built.
Work starts once I have access to your Google Business Profile and main listings. It takes about 20 minutes.
If your site holds you back, I rebuild it once around the services you want to rank for. One review round, no endless redesigns.
A simple agreement, not a 12-month contract. Cancel anytime with 30 days notice, because it has to work for both of us.
Your website, content, profiles and accounts stay in your name. If we ever stop working together, you keep all of it.
If that sounds like how you like to work, send me your site. Book an Intro Call
Plans start at $2,000 a month, month to month. A residential firm in one city usually fits Starter, while a company bidding commercial and residential work across several cities usually needs Growth or Scale.
$2,000/month
One location in a normal market.
For competitive markets
$3,500/month
For businesses competing in busier local markets.
from $5,000/month
Several locations or franchise networks.
Need a new website? SEO-first rebuilds are a one-time setup fee, quoted on your roadmap call.
Commercial clients who like your work bring repeat projects, and one tenant improvement can lead to the next building. Put in your numbers to see how many extra bid requests a month cover the plan.
1. Your numbers
What one client is worth over time: the first contract plus repeat projects, service work and referrals from owners and architects.
Fill in both and your LTV updates above.
What you keep from each sale after the costs of delivering it (labor, materials, product or service costs). Leave at 100% to judge on revenue.
Out of 10 bid requests or project inquiries, how many become awarded contracts?
Nobody can promise an exact number, and a lot of commercial search volume never shows in keyword tools. Try a few. I will give you a realistic range for your market on the intro call.

2. What it is worth
0Extra bid requests / month to break even
That is all it takes for SEO to pay for itself. Could Google bring you that many more a month?
If SEO brings 0 leads a month
0% return on the plan
Want a second opinion? I will check these numbers with you on the intro call, honestly.
An estimate from your own numbers, not a promise of results. SEO usually takes 4 to 12 months to build up.
What construction owners and managers ask before hiring for SEO.
Most SEO services cost from $1,500 to $10,000+ a month, depending on the market and the work involved. My plans start at $2,000 a month, month to month with 30 days' notice.
It can, because developers, facility managers and architects search for firms before they put a bid list together. Volume is lower than residential searches, but each inquiry is worth more, so the goal is being found for the right sector in the right city.
Map pack movement often shows in 2 to 4 months and organic rankings in 4 to 6 months or more. Commercial projects then take time to bid and award, so judge the early months on rankings and inquiries.
Look for someone who asks about your sectors, bonding and bid process before talking about keywords, and who reports bid requests, not just traffic. Nobody can guarantee rankings, so be wary of anyone who does.
Yes. General contractors win smaller residential and renovation jobs on quotes, which is what my SEO for general contractors is built around. Firms building new homes sell on floor plans and communities instead, and I offer home builder SEO services for that.
They can share one site, but they need separate pages, photos and contact paths. A homeowner and a developer want different proof, and Google ranks pages better when each one has a clear focus.
Not ready to hire anyone yet? These are the 12 things I check first on a construction company's Google Business Profile, from categories to the project photos that show the size of work you handle.
It downloads right away and lands in your inbox too. No newsletter.
